Busy couple of weeks.....
wow it's been a while since I was here last, firstly I've been craft shopping at the end of September my normal twice annual craft trip to Ally Pally, had a great day viewing and playing with lots of new gooodies, even managed to spend a little! nothing exciting just the normal papers, emblishments etc.....
however I have been rather busy with making a mock up of Susanne's bouquet for her wedding next year, as I had never made a bouquet before I thought it would be a good idea to give a trial run a go before we made the final decision on the shape size etc, and before we used the expensive materials! (you will not believe the beads I used in the pics below cost me less than a fiver! wire a bit more but thats to be expected)
anyways I set to work, the bouquet is meant to be tear dropped shape but even though I measured the wire a fair few times I got my measurements a little wrong so at the moment it is more of a wonky dome shape...ooops! I also changed the way I constructed it a couple of times during the putting together stage, so that also had an impact on the shape, however I can add some more stems to it and try and achieve the shape susanne is after, and I now know what went wrong and why so I know I will be able to correct it on the real thing, I can't wait to start on the real thing, I am also going to be making all the buttonholes and bridesmaids bouquets....
and on top of all of the above I will be making Susanne stationery...well whats the point in knowing someone who owns thier own stationery business and not using them! we are due to have a design session at the end of November..I can't wait to start, susanne has become a real girly over her wedding...which is so much better for me as a designer, means I get to play with lots of sparkly bits and pieces..yay! and all in my favourite colour shades of PURPLE!....yay!

A overdue update
wow it's been a long time since I blogged last, time is just running away with me lately, I have still been busy which is good, but I have also had time to work on a few other things as well, firstly though a few bits I have made for customers....
Dusty Pink and Cream Bridal Party Cards:
Cream and Balck Guest book, with added Diamonte:
Black and Cream Briadl Party Cards, which was lovely to make as normally and a lot lately have been Black and White, so a nice change!
My Niece's Birthday Card...as she was 8 this year I thought something a little more grown up would be good...she loved it!
and Lastly a very very special friend of mine is getting married next year, we have been chatting about her wedding for a few months now, I promised to help her as much as I could with anything she needed my help with, she has so kindly asked me to create all her stationery for her, which I am so looking forward to working with her on....
within our little chats I have also picked up a few other little bits and pieces she was worried about the main one was dress shopping!...so I offered to help her out and go with her..she gladly accpeted my offer and last Wednesday I took a little day trip up to Leicester, I can gladly say I was so proud of her she tried on dresses she honestly would not have worn and some she did not even like! but in the end it was all worth it, she even started to enjoy herself - though she will never admit that! but my nagging paid of as she found the most stunning perfect dress, she is going to look amazing! (sorry no pics until next year as they aren't mine to show off!)
In between dress shopping I was lucky enough to be treated to lunch, and a huge surprise! Susanne asked me to be her Chef Bridesmaid...I feel so honoured she thinks of me worthy enough to take on this role I ahve made a promise to myself that I will do everything in my will power to make sure she has the most amazing wedding day and enjoys every minute of it..which kind of brings me onto the fun I have been having tonight, Susanne also would like a crystal bouquet instead of flowers, well cut a long story short we are going to try and make them ourselves...so after a trip to the local craft shop today I have played about with some buttonholes...okay they are not the right beads (as the ones we will use are very expensive, but so sparkly!) and the ribbon wrap isn't quite there yet, but not bad for a first effort? well I am proud of them anyways! I can't wait to see if Susanne likes them and to start work on the real thing!

Guest book and Bridal Party Cards
I've been so busy lately I just haven't had time to get on here and blog what I have been up to, firstly a few Bridal Party Cards in champagne and gold, these designs are the same as whats on my site only with a few added extras, like the diamontes on the dresses, these were added as the bridesmaids dresses have a gold edge to them at the top of the dress, and a gathering at the hip on the other four, also some of the wasitcoats were made plain gold to match the mens outfits.

Joseph - end of London West End run
I forgot to post this last weekend mainly as normal it's takes me ages to do anything cause I am normally so busy, but last weekend saw the last show of Joseph and the Amazing Tehcnicolour dream coat in the West End, My first interest in the show was back in 1991 when it opened in the West End with Jason Donovan staring as Joseph, saldy I never got to see the show back then, then 2 years ago the BBC started a search for new Joseph (I even surprised hubby by telling him the tv was mine!) well three theatre trips later the show has closed it's doors for the final time :( it's a colourful show which I love, and was lucky enough to enjoy one of those performances with my niece who will hopefully in years to come remember her theatre trip to London, sadly I will never see the show again (even if it does reopen in the future which I am sure it will, cause quoting Andrew Lloyd Webber Lee Mead was 'The Best Joseph ever'
